The Algerian media Compétition reported that Hakim Hadj Redjem had submitted his resignation from the presidency of MCA, driven by the Tunisian Khaled Ben Yahia. But this resignation was rejected by the CEO of Sonatrach, the club’s major shareholder.
Under intense pressure after the club’s headquarters were stormed by disgruntled supporters in Zéralda and a wave of criticism on social media, Hakim Hadj Redjem finally decided to throw in the towel. According to information from the Algerian media Compétition, the president of Mouloudia d’Alger officially submitted his letter of resignation on Thursday morning at Sonatrach’s headquarters.
But this move did not receive the approval of the management of the oil group. Indeed, CEO Noureddine Daoudi refused to sanction this departure, deeming it inconceivable that the leader would leave his post in the middle of the transfer window, while several priority files remained to be completed.
From then on, Hadj Redjem would continue his mission at the head of the club, with a new green light from Sonatrach to recruit three to four quality reinforcements, with a view to defending the national title and shining in the CAF Champions League.
