According to data published on Saturday by the newspaper The Independant, British military sites have been targeted by drones more than 300 times over the past 12 months, amid escalating tensions with Russia.
In 2025, 250 incidents had been recorded, almost double the 126 registered the previous year.
The Ministry of Defence did not provide information on the origin of these drones, but these incidents come as European countries condemn the increase in Russian hybrid attacks on their territory.
These figures are published as Russia summoned on Friday the acting chargé d’affaires of the United Kingdom to protest London’s continued increase in its deliveries of drones and other weapons systems to Ukraine, the Russian diplomacy ministry said in a statement.
Moscow warned that British military facilities in Ukraine would be considered “legitimate targets” if they were used to support long-range strikes against Russia.
