Two parliamentary commissions have set the rules for their work on the missions within their remit in the framework of examining the state’s budget bill for 2027. Deputies will each have ten minutes to present their observations and proposals.
A meeting dedicated to organizing the work
The Education, Vocational Training, Scientific Research, Youth and Sports Commission held, on October 26, 2026, a joint meeting with the Services and Social Development Commission of the National Council of Regions and Districts.
The session was devoted to defining the working method for examining the missions entrusted to the two commissions within the framework of the sessions devoted to the state budget project for 2027. This approach falls within the framework of Decision No. 20 of the Office of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP), dated October 16, 2026.
The Education Commission was represented by its chairman, Abdelrazak Ouaidat, its vice-chairman, Mounir Kammouni, its rapporteur, Nejib Akermi, as well as its members Kamel Farah and Manal Bdidda. Several deputies not members of the commission also took part in the meeting.
Ten minutes for each deputy
The members of the two commissions stressed the importance of the sectors involved, notably education, higher education, vocational training, scientific research, youth and sports, as well as services and social development.
They argued that these areas are essential levers for social progress, for fighting unemployment, and for guiding youth, as well as for developing their skills. They called for directing resources toward development priorities and for ensuring the effectiveness of interventions.
At the end of the exchanges, the majority of the deputies from both chambers of the legislature expressed support for granting ten minutes of speaking time to each elected representative so that they could present their remarks and proposals. The deputies also called for coordinating interventions to avoid repetitions and the treatment of the same topics and issues.
Delays in projects at the heart of the debates
Regarding development projects, the participants requested that the examination of sectoral budgets be linked to the progress status of the planned programs and projects. They also called for identifying the reasons for their blockage or delay in implementation.
The deputies finally asked the concerned parties to provide the commission with data on the progress of the development plan for the period 2026-2030.
