The Assembly of the Representatives of the People reconvenes this Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 10:00, with the work of its plenary session devoted to continuing the examination of three draft laws relating to guarantee and financing agreements for the benefit of the Tunisian Chemical Group and the state budget.
The session takes place in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh.
Two agreements to finance fertilizer imports
The Parliament will continue examining Bill No. 50 of 2026, approving the guarantee agreement concluded on December 1, 2025 between the Tunisian Republic and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation.
This agreement is linked to a Murabaha agreement signed between the Tunisian Chemical Group and the aforementioned financial institution. It aims to contribute to financing fertilizer import operations.
The deputies will also examine Bill No. 51 of 2026, relating to a second guarantee agreement concluded on December 2, 2025 between the Tunisian Republic and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation.
This second agreement likewise concerns a Murabaha agreement concluded with the Tunisian Chemical Group in order to finance its fertilizer imports.
An amendment to a loan intended for the State budget
The program of the session also includes the examination of Bill No. 52 of 2026.
This text concerns the approval of Amendment No. 2 to the loan contract concluded between the Central Bank of Tunisia, on behalf and for the account of the Tunisian State, and the African Import-Export Bank.
This financing is intended to cover part of the State budget, as part of mobilizing the resources necessary to meet public financing needs.
Closing of the fourth ordinary session
Following the examination of these three draft laws, the Assembly of the Representatives of the People should announce the closing of its fourth ordinary session.
This procedure takes place in accordance with the provisions of Article 71 of the Constitution and Article 77 of the Parliament’s internal rules.
