Tunisia: Industrial Exports Rise 7.6% in the First Half

According to data published by the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII), during the first half of 2026, the disclosed investment in the industrial sector reached 1,057.9 MD, compared with 955.1 MD in the first half of 2025, representing an increase of 10.8%.

These projects will, according to APII, create 22,582 jobs, compared with 15,564 in the first half of 2025 (i.e., +45.1%).

Fully export-oriented industries recorded respective increases of 171.3% in the number of declared projects, 58.9% in declared investments, and 453.2% in employment.

APII indicated that investments in industry held 100% by foreign capital and in joint ventures rose by 34.7%.

APII recorded a rise in declarations by Tunisian investors, standing at +4.3% in the amount of investments (totalling 783.8 MD) and +29.6% in job creation (13,738 jobs declared).

And added that exports of the industrial sector rose from 29,478.3 MD in the first half of 2025 to 31,718.6 MD in the same period of 2026, thus registering a 7.6% increase.

Note that the disclosed investment in regional development zones marked an increase of 74.9% (569.7 MD versus 325.7 MD in the first six months of 2025).
