The General Tunisian Labour Union (UGTT) announced its intention to organize a general sector-wide strike in the fuel transport companies across the entire Tunisian territory on November 23, 24 and 25, 2026, to protest the non-implementation of a professional agreement dating from 2019.
This decision is included in a strike notice issued on Monday, November 2, 2026 by the UGTT’s private sector department.
In its notice, the trade union center explains that this protest movement follows the non-implementation of the agreement concluded on May 2, 2019, a situation it regards as an infringement of the professional and social rights of employees in the fuel transport sector.
The UGTT specifies that the strike will affect all companies in the sector across the country’s various governorates. It demands the immediate application of all provisions of the agreement in question.
The UGTT’s private sector department calls on authorities and the concerned parties to intervene quickly in order to find appropriate solutions to the causes of the dispute and to settle the ongoing conflict, with the aim of avoiding the triggering of the announced strike.
The strike notice refers to the provisions of Articles 376 bis and 376 ter of the Labor Code, as well as Article 377 and the following provisions, relating to the procedures for the settlement of collective labor disputes.
The holding of the strike planned for November 23, 24 and 25, 2026 remains thus contingent on the evolution of consultations and the possibility of reaching an agreement on the demands formulated.
