Tunisia and Egypt: New Synergies to Conquer African Markets

The Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA-Tunisia) announced that its Director General, also responsible for managing the Tunisian Investment Authority, Jalel Tebib, received the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Tunisia.

The ambassador was accompanied during this meeting by Oussama Chokri, the ambassador’s first counselor, in the presence of Thoraya Khayati, Director of International Marketing at FIPA and the General Commissioner of the Tunisia Investment Forum 2026.

According to the Agency, discussions focused on various aspects of Tunisian-Egyptian investment cooperation. The two parties highlighted the excellence of the relations between the two countries in several areas and stressed the need to activate the memoranda of understanding concluded between Tunisia and Egypt.

An invitation was also extended to participate in the world forum to be held in the city of El-Alamein, Egypt, in October next.

In this context, the General Director of FIPA indicated that the two countries are working to strengthen their economic relations and to foster complementarity as well as economic integration in Africa, notably within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

He noted that 13 Egyptian-participated companies are currently operating in Tunisia in the industrial sector, calling to increase this number so that it better reflects the promising potential that Tunisia and Egypt have in several areas.

For his part, the Egyptian ambassador to Tunisia affirmed the willingness of Egyptian companies to strengthen their ties with their Tunisian counterparts in several sectors.

He particularly stressed their willingness to develop joint partnerships aimed at targeting African markets, in a perspective of strengthened economic cooperation between the two countries.
