The “Tunisian Resilience Authority” announced, Monday evening, via its official Facebook page, that six Tunisians among the participants in what is called the “World Flotilla of Resilience to Break the Blockade of the Gaza Strip” have been detained by the forces of the Zionist entity, alongside militants of various nationalities.
In a statement published on its page, the authority indicated that the flotilla ships were “intercepted and subjected to an act of piracy” by the occupying forces in the open sea. It specified that the operation involved 39 ships heading toward the Gaza Strip as part of a solidarity initiative aimed, according to the organizers, at breaking the blockade imposed on the territory.
The authority added that the detained Tunisians are: Mouhab Snoussi, Saber Majri, Hamza Bouzouida, Safa Chebbi, Hasna Boussen and Jihene Haj Mbarek.
It also condemned what it described as a “Zionist aggression,” affirming its commitment to continuing mobilizations in support of the Palestinian cause and to lifting the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.
The organization furthermore called the Tunisian authorities to intervene and work to secure the release of the detained Tunisian nationals.
This initiative is part of international actions organized by networks and organizations supporting the Palestinian cause, which in recent years have multiplied convoys and solidarity flotillas toward the Gaza Strip in order to draw attention to the humanitarian situation in this besieged territory.
