“Efesto”, a new cultural space in Tunisia
TUNISIAONLINENEWS- A new cultural space dubbed “Efesto” opened on Saturday, featuring a painting exhibition of the Tunisian painter Sonia Tabib under the theme “Fragments of ordinary lives of unordinary men”. “Efesto” is located at La Marsa, north of Tunis.
Several Tunisian and Italian artists, art lovers and men and women of culture attended the opening ceremony.

This salon, whose original name refers back to the Greek god of fire “Hephaestus” and protector of blacksmiths and craftsmen, was created by two Italians living in Tunisia, Mrs. Michela Margherita Sarti, painter, Mr. Alfonso Campisi, writer and lecturer at the University of November 7, at Carthage.
“Efesto” brings together artists, writers, filmmakers and social scientists to showcase their works of art but also to organize discussions about cultural themes or critical sessions about plays or films.
The exhibition is a collection of photographs depicting fragments of the life of major political figures, published on the Internet and that the artist has altered, cropped, and then processed using a technique called ”painting.”
In her artistic approach, Sonia Tabib tried to invent new codes and to express an art movement, using an informal artistic language with different colors and tones, thus highlighting the human dimension of political figures that only an artist can capture and share.
