Closure of 2nd edition of “Green Ifriqiya 2009

TUNISIAONLINENEWS- The 2nd edition of environmental forum “Green Ifriqiya 2009″ closed on Saturday at the El Kram Exhibitions Hall.
The forum which was held from November 12 to 14, 2009 provided several partnership opportunities in terms of environmental promotion for Maghrebi and African economic partners, attending the event.

In an Interview for “Tunisiaonlinenews” Mr. Taher Achour, President of the national Trade Union of renewable energies, highlighted the importance of the forum in promoting the use of renewable energies.
300 Tunisian and foreign enterprises took part in the Forum which gathered 5000 visitors, including professionals in the sector of renewable energies.
It is worth noting that the environmental investments represent 1,2% of the country’s GDP. Environmental investments are divided between public and private investments. The latter increased by 90% over the last 15 years thanks to the improvement of the legislative and institutional framework which has fostered the creation of new business operating in the environmental sector.
In a message addressed to President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, participants stressed the importance of the items of the 2009-2014 presidential program relative to the setting up an environment friendly economy and a sustainable management of natural resources.
