President Ben Ali focuses on ISESCO regional and international events

President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali focused attention on the international and regional events of the Islamic Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ISESCO) when receiving, on Tuesday, ISESCO Director General Dr. Abdulaziz Altwaijri.

The latter said he had been honoured to meet the Head of State whom he had briefed on conferences to be held by ISESCO in Tunisia during the coming period, under the high patronage of the President of the Republic.

He mentioned, in particular, the conference to be held by ISESCO, jointly with the Basma Association for the Promotion of the Disabled Employment, on December 7, the fourth conference of Islamic countries’ Environment Ministers, due in October 2010, the international conference on youth to be held jointly with the Arab Maghreb Union, next January, as well as the closing events celebrating “Kairouan, Capital of Islamic Culture,” set for late February, 2010.

Dr. Abdulaziz Altwaijri expressed his thanks to the Head of State for the support and attention he lends to ISESCO, which is likely to help it discharge its mission with regard to comprehensive development and achieve its noble goals in the service of the Islamic world.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of State, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic and Official Spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic.(TAP)
