Prime Minister inaugurates national exhibition on Change’s achievements

Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi inaugurated, on Friday in Tunis, the national exhibition on the gains and achievements of the Change, held on the celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the Change on the theme: “New Stage of Construction, Reform and Enriching Gains.”

The prime minister was accompanied by Messrs. Abdelaziz Ben Dhia, Minister of State, Special Adviser to the President of the Republic and Official Spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, and RCD Secretary-General Mohamed Ghariani, as well as the Rally’s politburo members.

Mr. Ghannouchi toured the different stands of the exhibition which recounts, through photos, graphs and models, the significant gains and vanguard achievements accomplished in Tunisia in all sectors and for the benefit of all social segments and regions.

A large space has been dedicated, in this exhibition held on November 7-15, to the 24 topics of the new electoral platform of President Ben Ali, for the next five-year term “Together We Meet Challenges” and to highlighting the meanings of the large popular cohesion around President Ben Ali as the “choice of the present and the future.”

The exhibition highlights the positive atmosphere in which were held the October 25 presidential and legislative elections and which drew attention of national and foreign media, observers and figures from several sisterly and friendly countries who commended the climate of transparency, integrity and compliance with the law in which the electoral races took place.

The national exhibition also stresses efforts made by Tunisia to win the wager of employment, consolidate the attributes of decent living and sustainable development, enhance women’s presence in decision-making positions, establish the society of knowledge and encourage youth to excel in scientific, cultural and sports fields.

Mr. Ghannouchi familiarised, through models, with the large-scale national projects already achieved or in progress, as well as with the indicators recorded by Tunisia in all economic sectors, despite the difficult world situation.

The exhibition also dedicated a space to highlight the influence and prestige of Tunisia across the world thanks to the vanguard initiatives of President Ben Ali to consecrate dialogue and rapprochement among peoples, combat poverty, exclusion and marginalisation and establish the foundations of peace and security in the world.

The exhibition also shows the civilisational and human dimensions of the event: “Kairouan, Capital of Islamic Culture for 2009.”(TAP)
