Third emergency relief cargo plane sent to flood victims in Governorate of Gafsa

TUNISIAONLINENEWS – A third cargo plane loaded with emergency relief supplies destined to the population affected by the flash floods that hit the delegation of Redeyef on Wednesday , landed on Thursday afternoon at the Gafsa international airport.

As instructed by President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, The Minister of Equipment, Housing and Territory Development Mr. Slaheddine Malouche, headed again to the Redeyef delegation, to supervise cleaning operations of roads and public squares in the areas affected by the heavy rains. The minister visited several houses and commercial premises, enquiring about the damage caused.

During his meetings with the citizens, the minister reiterated President Ben Ali’s efforts to follow up on relief operations and to bring the necessary assistance to the flood victims.

An action plan was also set up to coordinate field interventions. Special teams received training crash courses in order to help the population cope with the consequences of the flooding.
